Frequently asked questions
Is this the official dollar or the blue dollar?
The USD → ARS rate we show comes from the wholesale market (BCRA reference), not the parallel one. The "blue dollar", "MEP", "CCL" and "card dollar" all have different values due to Argentine FX restrictions — always check the rate of the segment you'll actually use.
Why are there so many dollar rates in Argentina?
FX restrictions split the market into several channels with their own quotes: official (regulated), blue (informal), MEP (via bonds), CCL (foreign operations), and card (with surcharges). Each one responds to its own supply and demand.
Where do I check the blue dollar?
The blue is published by Argentine financial outlets (Ámbito, Cronista, Bloomberg Línea). On this page we only cover the wholesale official because that's the rate banks and most international platforms use as reference.
How do I budget if I earn in pesos but save in dollars?
It's the typical Argentine setup. In Monarka you can keep an ARS account for daily expenses and a USD one for savings, and review consolidated net worth in whichever currency you prefer. The conversion runs automatically at the day's rate.
Track money across currencies
Monarka records expenses in USD, savings in guaraníes, income in reais — and shows it all consolidated in whatever currency you pick. Automatic rates included.
